A fresh way to learn through sport
In a boccia game, a powerful throw does not automatically win the point. Students need to watch the court, decide where to aim and explain their choices. That gives teachers a useful setting for conversations about patience, teamwork and fair play.
For students who are less confident in fast moving games, the chance to pause and plan can feel different. A well planned session still needs thoughtful grouping and support. We discuss those details with you rather than assuming one format suits every class.
Where boccia can fit into your school calendar
- PE enrichment: introduce a precision sport and compare different ways of moving and competing.
- Inclusive sports exposure: explore how equipment, space and communication affect participation.
- Post-exam activities: bring a class together around a new challenge.
- Student leadership: create opportunities to explain rules, keep scores and support teammates.
A sample learning journey
The final lesson plan depends on the age group and time available. One possible sequence is to introduce the jack and coloured balls, practise aiming at different distances, play short team games, then reflect on what helped the team make a decision.
For a series of sessions, the progression can move from basic control to shot selection and team strategy. For a single workshop, the priority may be making sure every student understands the game and gets meaningful playing time.
Help us plan around your school
Send your student level, class or cohort size, preferred dates and session duration. Let us know whether you have a hall, indoor court or another suitable flat space. Mention any access or support arrangements without sharing individual students’ medical information in the enquiry form.
If you need a quotation, delivery outline or supporting documents for internal approval, include those requirements in your message. Coach allocation, equipment, ratios and logistics should be agreed before the session.
